In 1965, the Kotis family started out by supplying European migrants and expatriates with the Mediterranean foods they had grown to love in their homelands. In the early 1980’s as demand for these products grew, Elco Food Co. was established to satisfy this market as well as mainstream Australians who were now beginning to enjoy these European delicacies.
Over time, Elco grew in line with the ethnic population and the changing tastes of Australians. Having commenced operations with just two employees in a warehouse of 1000 square meters, Elco is now a successful and respected organization operating from a warehouse in Clayton of 10,000 m2.
